I have two files whose total run time is less than one hour entered to disk from a consumer-grade audio cassette from the early 1980s. I believe these were entered at 44.x KHz?? Who is able to reduce the noise level that my great nephew would be able to hear and understand the content? The files are my parents' reminiscences of the second world war. it will be a couple "tricks" first is to get a high quality tape player and jack up, LINE IN, to a pc next wil be the get a good editing software, but *I* would start with nero (trax or tracks) and use the automatic cleanup then save at 256Kb bit rate opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I discern only bits and pieces of your reply. Having written that, I should add that I run Macintosh OS 9.2.2, circa 2001. The software you identify I've not heard of on my Macintosh platform. I strongly suspect that even were I to have it, or something comparable, that wouldn't be helpful -- kind've like putting me in the pilot's seat of an F-15 and telling me to take off.
