I was just given my grandfather's old Case folder after he passed. It is covered in some nasty gunk/grease. What is the best solvent/cleaner to remove this stuff without ruining the patina? I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills. Marcus Cady DRSS

Depending on what the gunk/grease is AND what the handles are made of, I'd probably try WD-40 or any petroleum product like gun oil, ATF, diesel fuel, etc. and a old tooth brush. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.
