My father in law brought this home as war booty from Germany during WWII.
It has a brass(?) scabbard and it looks like a real ivory hilt. The designs on the pommel are a fouled anchor with D and S on either side. The blade has light etching on it in what looks like Naval designs. Could it be a Naval officer's dress dagger?
