Hi Guys,
I have Boker knife which has "503 stainless" on the blade. What does 503 mean?
Thanks.

It must be a model number since I know of no 503 type stainless steel.

Seems to be 440A, if it is this knife (or a similar one).

From 888Knives:

Features a 4.5 in. 440A stainless steel plain fixed blade. Stag handle with full tang and rivet construction for perfect balance and a wonderful fit in the hand. Comes with a leather sheath. Overall length of 9.0625 in.

Thanks,
My knife is not like the one above, it has a clip blade, a brass bolster and curved synthetic handle. However it's as you say likely to be a model 503.
Boker are good knives.
