I have a friend with a Bowie knife that was his grandfathers. This guy is 66, so the knife is quite old. It is stamped Bowie on one side of the blade and ??? I forget ??? a town in Colorado on the other side.
Its is in excellent shape.
Any ideas what it is worth?

Can't tell, whatever someone wants to pay for it.

What I do with stuff like this is check out as many online acutions as possible, see what similar stuff sells for. try Bladeauction.com as well as ebay and gunbroker, auctionarms, and gunsamerica.

hope that helps!

It's www.bladeforums.com . There were some interesting comments by agrussell about bowies. The originl [documented] was a large hunting knife with a straight spine.Later it changed and in fact most bowies were made in europe ! primarily England !
