RP cases CCI LR primers 50gr RE-15 168gr Seirra HPBT Match -I use the Forster Universal hollow pointer system to make the hollow point a little bigger. +or- 3/4" groups out of a 1947 Win Mod 70 30-06. I have found if you put the Sierra HPBT Match in the gear box they never take one step after. I know people say not to use them, but I've never had a problem with them.

I like 60 grains RL19 168 grain TSX Federal 210GMM Winchester Cases it ends up at around 2800 fps, the guys at Barnes say their max is 62 grains of RL19, but you have to crush a lot of powder for 62.

My pet load for my 30/06 is 180 grain Sierra SPBT, 56 grains IMR-4350, WW brass, CCI or WLR primers, 2750 fps from a 22" barrel. I have killed a bunch of Elk and Mule Deer with this load as well as Antelope. Works on Elk from 35 yards to 425 yards with an exit every time. Deer and antelope just fall down when the gun goes bang. Killed a Bighorn Sheep and a Mountain goat with this load too as well as Coyotes, Ravens, Marmots and I can't remember what else..

Woods Have you been playing much with Reloader 17? Was wondering about its performance with the 180 grain bullets?

Have only been working with the 200 gr Accubond in 30-06. Also with 260 Accubonds and 270 TSX's in 375 Ruger. But it should work well with the 180 gr in the 06. I would start at my load of 55 gr and work up a little at a time. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

Yes, you should be able to use use it unless it has become brittle over time. The case capacity of military brass is usually less than commercial brass, so you may need to back off a grain or two in powder charge because of that. In any event, start a bit low in your charges using military brass and work up. "How's that whole 'hopey-changey' thing working out for ya?"

For the Browning BAR, in response to Hard Luck; I have used 46 1/2 - 47 grains of either H or IMR 4895 for my BAR in either 150 or 180 grain Hornaday or Noslers. Very accurate load in several BAR's I load for and a very effective load. I did a bunch of research on the BAR and other semi-autos, and I've been reluctant to use any other powders than 4895 and 150 - 180 to avoid any possiblity of gas system damage. Do any of the other readers use the Browining BAR? What powders have been successful for you? Shotgun
