I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk revolver and a Marlin M1984 carbine, both in .44 Magnum. I have noticed with certain handloads of H110 or W296, where loads that function and eject just fine in the revolver stick in the chamber of the carbine. I am guessing on chamber differences, anyone else see this?

Spud, I have SBH in 44Mag and a Winch. Trapper w/ 16" tube. I pretty much just use Unique, 8.0 grns, for low plinking and 19-20.5 grns H110. I use 240 grn lead for low and several hard cast and jacketed for the hot loads. Never had any issues w/ sticking in either. Sounds like rifle chamber is a little tighter. Hey Spudster, brainfarted. You should slug both. That should tell you pretty quickly.

I shoot the same loads in a revolver, a Contender, and a rifle, and haven't had any issues with cases sticking, but I'm using 2400, and I'm a little under max.

My guess is that the chamber is a little tight on the rifle. I'd just work the load up in the rifle, and use that load in both. It will be a little lighter, but I'm guessing that game animals won't be able to tell the difference.

You may have already done this but maybe try a really good in depth cleaning on the carbine.
be sure to really scrub the chamber in case you have some junk in there
