Years ago read an article in old Shooting mag called "Dynamite on Deer" .. tried it.. works good when there's a hunter on every stump..grouped great in my old S&W model B.. 170 gr 30-30 bullets ahead of 46andahalf gr of IMR 4895. never chronoed it, just killed lots of whitetails in Michigan with it.. nothing ever went more than DOWN!! ... hth.. I've been using 170 gr. 30-30 bullets in my 30-40 Krag for some years now. I know what you mean about "bang-flop". It's amazing how they go down! I load them to about 2500 FPS with 4064 or 3031, and they ARE accurate !!! Shovel ready..... but hangin' on

Closest thing I've found 200 gr Accubond 60 gr RL22 Fed 215M 2650 fps A slow mover but carries a lot of energy. Very accurate in 3 different guns ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________
