Les StaleyBang-Flop deer load for '06
Years ago read an article in old Shooting mag called "Dynamite on Deer" .. tried it.. works good when there's a hunter on every stump..grouped great in my old S&W model B.. 170 gr 30-30 bullets ahead of 46andahalf gr of IMR 4895. never chronoed it, just killed lots of whitetails in Michigan with it.. nothing ever went more than DOWN!! ... hth.. reloadermanI've been using 170 gr. 30-30 bullets in my 30-40 Krag for some years now. I know what you mean about "bang-flop". It's amazing how they go down!
I load them to about 2500 FPS with 4064 or 3031, and they ARE accurate !!!
I used to load 170 gr 30-30 bullets in a 30-06 years ago,read it in one of jack o connors books.really puts the brakes on em.
