I have developed a load for my .257 Weatherby Vanguard that I am particular fond of. ![]() ![]() Red C. Everything I say is fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Im kinda stumped here, wouldnt it have just been easier to have the 25-06,less recoil, less powder consumption and less throat erosion, the 25-06 will do anything that 257 Roy can do for so far out there you would have to call Quigley out to shoot it for you..............

Coyo Thanks for the response. I probably would have bought the 25-06, but the .257 was given to me as a Christmas gift. Now that I have it, I love it. I have the option of shooting the .25-06 velocity loads or the higher velocity, even flatter trajectory, full pressure loads. I reload so the cost of ammo isn't such a shock. My .257 Wby is extremely accurate, too. The 25-06 is a great shooter as well, and if I were going to have to buy factory ammo, it would be my choice over the .257 Wby. Red C. Everything I say is fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Believe me you can do alot more than 3150 w/100gr in a .25-06. I do better than that with a 115gr. But I'd still go for the Weatherby!! til later

It is much easier and safer to load down than to go way over max.
