I would say 53.5 grains of H414 and 53.5 grains of WW 760 in the 7X57mm case with a 140-grain bullet are so nearly identical that no-one could determine which was which, even with a chronograph and pressure measuring equipment!! [Cool] (Seems to me that more people are getting the most out of their 7X57's than I had at first thought...)

7 X 57 range report. Been taking advantage of experience of other's development work and took a trip to the range yesterday with my chronograph. Loaded the following bullets .002 off the lands in my 23" barrel and this is what I got. Temperature was 75 degrees.

140 Nosler partition 47.5gr H414, 2825 fps ave.
139 Hornady bt 48gr H414 2873 fps ave
154 ge Hornady RN 48 gr IMR 4350 2621 fps ave
160gr Sierra BT 47.5 H414 2812fps ave
160 gr Trophy Bonded 47.5 H414 2836 fps ave.

No signs of high pressure.

Does yours have a long throat? I suspect not, looking at your velocities vs powder charges...

In my Ruger 1A, I get only 2700 FPS from 50 grains of IMR 4350 and a Nosler 150-grain Ballistic Tip. However, 52 grains of IMR 4350 gives me 2820 with a 160-grain Partition. [Big Grin]
