Absolutely! You may want to try small pistol primers in the Hornet. They seem to give me better accuracy.

2.5 x 8 VX 3, Duplex, and yes the the small pistol magnum primers as stated above, CCI 550's for me. I love the double set triggers, but I sorely wish I had a shigt hood for the front sight.. then it would be perfect!

13.0gr Lilgun, WW case, Win small pistol primer, and a 45gr Barnes XLC gets me 2,900+fps out of my Ruger M77. Works very well for coyotes.

Try the LiL Gun and work up from about 11.5 grs, using a small pistol magnum primer, or aRem 6 1/2 as an alternate.

WW680 over CCI small rifle primers gave me the best accuracy with 40 grain pills. Since W680 was discontinued AA1680 and W296 are what I use now with 40 and 35 grain bullets.

Never had much luck with Lil Gun but others seem to rave about it. Velocity was great but the groups opened up to about 1.5 inches.

One of my favorite rifles is my Ruger Model 77 in .22 Hornet. Mine wears a Simmons Pro Hunter 4-12 and it has performed with excellent results. I even took it to South Africa one year and had a ball with it on the smaller critters.

My favorite load is:
Sierra 40 grain Hornet #1200 Moly coated (or not)
13.6 grains Accurate 1680
WSR Primers; WW Case
2665 FPS
