Sounds like a nice plinking load. How much lower did the bullets hit from your regular scope setting? I have a bunch of round nose 110grn 30 caliber bullets but not spire pts. I've tried to find a accurate plinking load with HDY 130grn psp's but the RP 125 psp's seem more accurate for my M110 Savage-22". Why magnum primers with H4895? Does this 30grns fill the case about 65%-75%? BM

| This is basically the same load I use for my 30-30 contender plinking loads except I just use large rifle primers, not the magnum. Those 110 grn bullets do make for a sweet non recoiling round. BTW do any of you know of a 125 grn or less bullet that is boat tailed, and within reasonable price. (30cal of course ) |

| I too have used a 4227 but I believe it was the IMR variety. Can't remember but I think it was 26 or 27 grains. Same trajectory as my deer loads out to 100 yards. Great on squirrels. D |
