Another black mule I got this past weekend. 15.1 and 7 yrs. old.

Not afraid to walk off by herself. I like her. So far, anyway.

Shoot Bill, two blacks and your sorrel one as well? Better find hay for winter.

Should have mentioned that the other black mule was too jumpy for me. It went back to its previous owner.

So I still only have this new mule to ride, and two pasture-ornaments.

Still working on finding another mule.

Will you should come out to BigSky country some time and we can ride our long ears together. Just got out of the backcountry with my 6 year old mule Sam.

Bill:

Men our age should not be buying using mules less than 10 years old. The younger mules look nice but generally they still need a little more experience.

Just a thought from my Montana ranch experience.

Larry,

I tend to agree though I sometimes don't adhere to my own advice of 8+ years.

So far, she is really calm, or broke, or whatever you want to call it. I'm too old to get hurt, not that I ever wanted to!

But you know how they are. They can go nuts at the drop of a hat, whether they are 7 or 27.

But she is calm, except for tractors for some reason. She's scared around the JD but pays no attention to cars. Must be the noise. Go figure.

Of course, I may get tossed tomorrow but I don't think she will.

I hate to admit it but my riding routine is rather sedate. A couple hours & I'm heading for the trailer or hitch rail. It's pretty much my only entertainment and 99% of the time I just ride by myself. But thanks for the invite.
