I have just been told it is going to cost US$400 to fly my new barrel from USA to Australia (It is a 2"diameter .458 barrel). This is a bit steep so can anyone in US tell me which companies to use to send a barrel over here sea freight? Sympathy please ,I have champagne tastes and beer budget

I just used the US postal service to mail an 11.5 Lb package to New Zealand Monday. It cost me $42 US and should be there in two weeks they say. (It was going by air though). Are you sure that your price doesn't include duties and VAT? Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. No ,it was the price he said just to air freight it. It will be fairly heavy being a 2" cylinder ,but US$400 sounds a bit steep to me. The person sending it wasnt sure of who to send it through . Who should he send it through to get it here by sea freight? Sympathy please ,I have champagne tastes and beer budget

cr500, I enquired about a PacNor barrel a few months back and if I remember right they quoted around US$40 or so. Maybe it's gold plated? Cheers... Con
