Anyone know where i can get those lead bullets/plugs that are .375 on one end and .458 on the other? They are used for forming 458lott brass from 375H&H.

Since Hornady brass is readily available in 458 Lott, why make extra work for yourself? Unless, of course, you just like to do it the hard way. Lo do they call to me, They bid me take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla, Where the brave may live forever.

To answer your question, RCBS makes a froming die, a tapered plug for your dies, and a tapering plug that will ease your .375 open to 458...Any 3 of them work well...I looked around for mine and was going to send it to you,but apparantly someone beat you to it!! It really isn't the worth the effort, been there done that. Even 416 Rem mag brass run through a tapered expander comes out with uneven necks. The Hornady brass is good stuff, doesn't matter how much 375 brass you have on hand, do yourself a favor and just get the Lott brass. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.

Thanks for the responses, and thanks for the offer Ray. I'm aware of the various brass mfg.s that are making lott brass, but am still interested in knowing where to get these plugs/bullets. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Here is an easy way to fire form brass, no expensive dies or weird bullets and works great too. Prime your 375 brass, load 15gr Red Dot, fill case with corn meal and press firm with stick/pencil etc. Then place tissue paper or small piece of packing foam peanut on top. Load and fire in a safe direction, do not do this at your house in town as it will sound like a gunshot. I have tried this as an experiment with 300wby to 458 Lott, just to see, and it did work. what Hogkiller said... or the other fellas.. unless you have a ton of 375 brass, it's not cost effetive to do the leads... which you might have seen in boddington's book "safari rifles" I offered to make some .458 to .510 for Forrest, but he and Keith showed the fast powder and cornmeal trick!! jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Ray Even though Norma makes Lott brass, the Hornady brass is much cheaper, close to half. When it comes to reloading, we're all a bit cheap when it comes to components. Lo do they call to me, They bid me take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla, Where the brave may live forever.

Newguy, if you don't have brass yet, buy inexpensive Hornady. If you already have tons of empty 375s on hand (like I did) do what HogKiller said with a pistol charge. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

I fireformed some 375H&H brass once for my Lott. I ended up with brass that was .080 too short for my chamber. Just buy Hornady brass. It works beautifully and is really the cheapest brass you can buy for a cartridge that develops 5800 FPE. ---Catter Shoot the largest caliber you can shoot well, and practice, practice, practice.
