Does anyone know what a Hawkeye will hold in the magazine yet? Even though I really want a canoe paddle stock for some perverse reason, I'm thinking about buying a new hawkeye in 7MM Rem Mag, rather than a used MK II -- is there any reason to get the MKII instead? I'm hoping to be able to pick up a canoe paddle stock cheap/swap the hawkeye one for one... Would an MRC be a better choice? Anyone know how long their wait is currently? ....Having had ALOT of m77mk 2s and one Montana 1999... I will state that the Ruger is the action for me ....It is lighter and more comfortable to shoot , nicer to cycle , and doesn,t need fixin when it,s new ..........Sometimes the Hawkeye has a better trigger ., and a duller finish , which is nice ,, I like the feel of the new triggers , nice and rounded like the CZ trigger .....,., I both stocks ...but I like how easy it is to bed the 2nd recoil lug under the barrel of a real caliber [ like a .375 on up ] with the Canoe paddle stock .....Just a snolly bomb of JB Weld or Marine tex and your in business ..... .If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

Aglifter My 458AR will be complete in just a few weeks and it's being built on a Brand new Ruger Hawkeye 338 Win Mag Anything you want to know just ask, I have already cross bolted the stock, wrist pinned it, I have some devcon steel bed putty ready to go for when the action gets back from the Gunsmith. The Hawkeye stock will need a better kick pad as well I did examine the magazine box and compared it to the 7mm Rem Mag Mark 2 I have new in the box for the 500AR and to be honest their is very little difference, infact the side walls on the Mark 2 curve in a bit more than the Hawkeye, I'm going to have to get the Mark 2 box stretched out a bit, I think once you cut some windows in the box like Remington do with the Ultra Mags, and possibly a flatter follower, there will be no problem I'll keep you up to date regards S&F

Thank You, I'm sure I'll be in touch. At the SHOT show, Hogue said the 375R Alaskan is a different stock than they're regular model, and that my 'smith would have to special order the full bed version from a distributor. Any idea if that type of stock would be strong enough for a 458AR? I think I like the idea of the hawkeye -- my 'smith did a great trigger job on the one I currently have -- shame it doesn't have stainless swivel studs, though...
