Does the Ruger Alaskan in .416 Ruger have some special arrangement of additional recoil lugs or some other modification that would prevent it from being fitted to an aftermarket stock for Ruger 77's? I've found an almost-new one at an attractive price, but I hate the flimsy-feeling forearm on the pillar-bedded Hogue stock. I have a couple of aftermarket M77 stocks (a Boyd's JRS and a Hogue with the aluminum bedding block) and I would like to mount one of them on the .416 if I get it. Any problems lying in wait for me? Thanks for any help. John

I do not know about that specific set up, but M77s use a recoil plate assembly that would have to be fitted into the stock. George

I put my .375 Ruger into the standard black plastic Ruger stock. Got it from Brownells for about $89. But I did add a cross bolt behind the recoil lug. Nothing special.
