Jeff, the coat is so this doesn't get worst.chest The weather we're having here is just terrible-it is the worst year ever.We have gone almost entirely without a sunny day since February and the temperature is unsummer like.I never liked our climate and hope one day to be able to do something about it.I remember a conversation I had with Richard Tabor while on my hunt and saying to myself that I share exactly the same oppinion as he did when he said "water just destroys everything" rotflmo If it rained in Africa the way it rains here I would not hunt there.

Sorry, I'm confused. Your reference to breaking a rib,
and the above sentence also, I can't get your meaning.

When I got in my truck to drive back from the range, I felt a slight tenderness below the bruise. There was a very slight discomfort in that area throughout the day-while sneezing, sleeping on that side etc.. but no pain.

OK, I re-read this and now I get it. You're saying:

I am getting too old for this. I'm going to stop and let some healing take place.

I did not intend to make fun. I just was "not following".
Sorry if I sounded like I was "looking down my nose" at you.

Trailboss is made by IMR. There is a simple formula to calculate the amount of powder. They have loads for a 458 Win mag with 385gr bullet listed at 16-19 grains. No filler needed. I contacted them about the primers and they said Large Rifle is fine. It works with any weight bullet. I think I shot 350gr cast bullet's at 1300fps. My gun was sighted in one inch high at 100 yards with 500 grain Factory bullets and the loads with Trailboss hit 9 inches low at 100 yards. Click on Data then reduced loads.

Jeff,

46 Rounds is what I counted. Shot pretty much as fast as he could reload the rifle. I am not sure what the proves or means but old George does love to shoot. That is more rounds fired than a "Lott" of hunters shoot in total for preparation for going to Africa.

Mike, that was my fourth time out that week.I fired as many rds the other times. No wonder my shoulder/chest is not up to the task this time around.I also caught a cold for the fourth time this year.Shooting is really fun especially offhand, open sight, big bore shooting.Although these 85gr H4895 405gr bullet loads have plenty of recoil,I once substituted 2140fps 550gr bullet loads without knowing when I would shoot them and noticed more recoil.I doubt it would be as easy to shoot the 550gr loads.

Little boys should not play with such big toys.

Just kidding.

On a serious note heating up your barrel like that is not good for throat errosion and maintaining peak performance. Ok to do it with your Rugar but not with that very fine boltaction you had made.

JD,I agree.Although I plan on doing alot of dry fire practice with it,I have no plans on shooting 50 shot or even 10 shot strings and getting the barrel hot.I've seen what only doing that just once can do to the accuracy of the barrel.I am very happy with the how the rifle turned out so far.It was worth the wait.Looking forward to our duel, wherever and whenever that may be.

So your in training, good for you. I just started back to the gym. I need to put a little muscle on so I can start eating a little. I have been working on the damage to my hands and a little strength is comeing back real slow though. I may be able to grip my rifle right it things keep going like this. looking forward to our match.
