Hi guys,I own a 300wm build on a P14 action and I want to covert it to a 458 Express.Truvello in SA is manufacturing the new barrel for me.Gunsmith took some measurements and said it can be done if one take in account that the AOL is 97mm of the cartridge. So my question is,have anyone done this before and if so would you recommend to go on with it or should I rather settle for a ZKK 602 or CZ550 action(whith is very hard to find).
Thanks

Please make contact with Danie Joubert in Pretoria, he has done most of the conversions and he is the man that will guide you.

I have spoken to Danie last week,he cant help me because he haven't done any work on the P14 action.I think it will work,no problems if one consider pressure,I know of two 500 Jeff's and a 505 that have been build this year by the same gunsmith using a P14 action.

the 458 express is 3" case, 3.8 oal, right? this will be a little work, but not tough, for the gunsmith .. he can make a mag box pretty easily

You might conisder the 458 Accurate Reloading .. it is 3.35 oal .. will fit LENGTH in the mag, but will need to be opened on the rails, exactly like a 458 winmag

it uses, cheap here, 375 rum rather than 404 jeffery as the base case.

just suggesting, feel free to discard the thought
