The humble beginning, iphone shop picture right after the newly barreled action was broken out of the glass bedding and reassembled for test firing: The Sporting .408 Chey-Tac ![]() ![]() MRC PH stainless action, 4.070" inside box length, 1.200x16tpi barrel threads. Barrel: Dan Lilja stainless, 1.350" breech diameter, "No. 7 Sporter," fluted, 26-inch finished length, 1:13" twist. MRC-supplied Boyd's walnut stock. I'll check up on it soon. It is getting finishing touches from Sir Gunsmith, Rusty McGee, at the Hilltop Gun Shop and Spa for Wayward Rifles. I broke a right T-6 rib falling across a log last week, dodging a falling timber ... Maybe a month before I do much shooting. ![]() Riflecrank Internationale Permanente Incurable ![]() The 404 Jeffery in Nebraska, 2004, Ray Atkinson Booking Agent, Shooting the Moon and Bison: ![]() ![]()

I know Wayne at AHR built at least one 600 Overkill with an MRC PH, and swore off that action after that. ![]() If I ever get really big-bored I'll try a 600 Overkill switch barrel on my .408 CT: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The thread: http://forums.accuratereloadin...231065371#2231065371 The rifle: ![]() ![]() Riflecrank Internationale Permanente Incurable ![]() The 404 Jeffery in Nebraska, 2004, Ray Atkinson Booking Agent, Shooting the Moon and Bison: ![]() ![]()

The biggest and baddest in the PH, Not too custom or fancy, but my 700HE Long in the PH. Weighs 24 lbs. Case is 4.27" version. I have an extra bolt bearing lug using the bolt handle base, like I do with Enfields. Gets 1000 gr to 33-3400. Anyone needing PH actions I got couple extras to sell, about 2/3 present new price.Ed ![]() MZEE WA SIKU

I have searched this board for more posts on the PH actions and it looks like there isn't any recent ones. I have seen that there were some issues with the action. Mine is chambered for the 550 Shirley magnum. I would like to hear from those who have used this action. I am having a issue with the extraction mentioned in one post. For the life of me I can't find the sticking point. PM are very welcome or direct email is ok also. Samm of the USA ![]()

Steven, Nice Rings&Rail. ![]() That would certainly make sense on my .408 CT. Nice stock. ![]() Who made it? I might need one of those ... Is that a .550 Magnum? Please tell more, otherwise you are just a gunpornographer. How about some redeeeming social value to go with that cheesecake? Hi RIP; Yes it is a 550 Mag on a PH action with a Pac-Nor 24" barrel. Neal Shirley loaned me the chamber reamer. The dies are from CH Die. The stock comes from Royal Arms Gunstocks of Simms, MT 59477. It is totally glass bedded. The scope is a 30mm Sightron S-Tac 2-10 x 32 #26010. The rings are 30mm Vortex and the rail a o.480x12" picatinny from Amazon.com that I shortened to 7" and fitted to the action. The stock finish is a handrubbed oil wood finish by Arrow in Milton, WI. 53563. There is a Vais style brake that I make myself that adds 2" to the barrel lenght. I also added mercury recoil reducers to the butt stock to balance the weight from the heavy barrel. I don't have a weight yet but will say close to 12 lbs. I have just finished it so I don't have a report on how it shoots. Simm of the USA ![]()

Well we made it to the range (mine) and did find that this thing will kill on both ends. The weight is 14 lbs 12 0z and it could be double to make life easier when you pull the trigger. I loaded a safe round of 100 grs of H335 behind a Barnes 700 gr solid and Fed 215 primer. Recoil was heavy but not severe. I didn't Chronograph the load but primer showed a light load. I then upped it to 110 grs and the recoil WAS severe but the primer didn't show any pressure. Decapping did show that the 110 gr load is max or very close. Need the chrono to check against QuickLoad figures. Samm ![]() T

Howdy Thanks for the reply. I used QuickLoad and look at the useable pressure, which I don't have a way to check, but compare fps from the program. I have a Oehler 35P chronograph I use but put it away a couple of years ago and haven't been able to locate it since. Old age is getting to my gray cells quicker than I like. I am sure it won't get better. Samm ![]()
