Congratulations Matthew!
Married!
Now you shall learn to walk the walk of a man with a rifle down his pant leg as he slips one by her on the way to the gun safe:

He: "Honey! I'm home."
She: "Happy to see me or is that a rifle in your pants?"

Live long and prosper!

Let us know the subjective recoil reduction on that T. rex. It won't do anything for the torque!

PS: Kevin got my Vais brake for the 500 Mbogo, and might be able to deliver the completed rifle Friday. Then he heads off to start medical school. He is storing his machinery at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, figures to do a little gunsmithing on the side while getting his M.D. Big Grin

PPS: Is that AHR Gunwerkes in the photo? That rifle will surely not need to fit in your pants. Nice improvements to the Hannibal. Saeed should be so kind as to fix his "Flying Rifle" like that. thumb

PPPS: Live long and prosper, be fruitful and multiply!
Teach them to hunt and shoot and keep the faith, those kids of you and the Missus Matthew.

Congratulations on the new gun! That is one big brake.

Married? I've been married so long that I don't even look both ways when I cross the street.

Beautiful Matt!

Now that you are back, your 600 OK case and bullet will be on its way. I didn't want to chance having the USPS "hold" it for you - it might have gotten "lost".

Medical School, huh? Well, I guess it's too late to talk him out of it.

Way to go on the upgrades…

Let us know what you think about the X Brake…

I think you’ll be pretty impressed with its performance…

Congratulations on getting married as well…

It’s not as bad as every one says…

Just don’t let the new wife put any “brakes†on your big bore addiction… Wink

I can say that the X-brake works amazingly well. I shot the last stage of the Helena shoot with it. Six rounds in 32 seconds, and nary a mark or soreness to show for it. If your new bride treats you as gently as the brake does you will be a happy man...!

Thanks guys!
I've had the rifle for about 7yrs now and would tend to forget my name after 20rds (or 7-9 from the bench). This way I can enjoy shooting the rifle AND remember it! rotflmo
Also, I had to shoot a reduced load for the black bear I shot with it in 2005. I didn't want to rip the thing in half. As it the bullet traveled 3' of bear and was found under the skin just about ready to exit! Now deer this fall WILL get a Woodleigh 650grBPX bullet as fast as I can push it. 2020

Yes, that is AHR in the background. Wayne was great to deal with and the Hannibal looks great. I couldn't be happier with it.

Paul, PM sent.

The wife and I have been friends for 15yrs and dating for 2.5yrs. She knows who I am and ALMOST everything about me. She's a good woman to put up with me. Big Grin

Reloading and range time are on the list for the weekend!!!

Ditto-You want to see how effective that brake is, take one of your full-house loads and fire it off-hand with the brake on. Then unscrew it and fire the second round Eeker Wayne and Ed make a fantastic brake. Plus I've hunted with it without earplugs and it doesn't blow your eardrums out like some beer
