375 Ruger chambered by Montana Rifleman
For those who may be interested, I just got off the phone with Montana Rifleman. They are expecting to receive 375 Ruger reamer shortly and expect to be able to fill my order for a chambered barrel in 5-6 weeks.
I have an FN Mauser currently in 7 rem mag that will get the makeover. The barrel will be 4 contour, 1 in 10 twist and stainless. I will keep the Boyd laminated stock. My gunsmith (Corlane, Dawson Creek BC) will install NECG iron sights and Talley QD bases. The action has already been blueprinted.
Obviously the project will take a while but will keep you posted on this thread with photos and range reports in the fullness of time.

boom stickthere will be a bunch of 7mag barrels on ebay soon...sell them before the market drops

I hear you but I don't think anyone will want this one. The 1 in 10 twist wouldn't stabilize the 160 and higher bullets. If I want to shoot a 140 grain bullet my 260 rem will do a better job.
I want this rifle for moose in an area where they are large and there a grizzlies skulking around.

vapodog.375 Ruger in a MRC action sounds perfect....
too bad they have had so much negative publicity lately!
Hi Vapodog,
I understand that the Montana actions are back ordered now. I'm just getting a barrel from them for my FN Mauser action. My gunsmith has no problem getting them promptly.
I do want to get a Montana action one of these days so I hope they get things straigthened out.

I emailed ER Shaw and they are makeing barrels in 375 Ruger. $140 for a chrome moly barrel and $200ish for stainless.

The last I checked with Shaw, their lead time for delivery was so long that something better will be developed before the barrel shows up!
