Some people have described the 375T as "almost" a 375H&H. DO YOU AGREE? some simple figures: 250/.338win 2650 270/.358Norma 2650 (250gn Norma factory 2800fps) going on this, the rule of a same weight larger dia. going faster,or heavier going the same, then a 300gn 375T should reasonably get 2600fps without much trouble, sound fair? Yes...of the data I've seen the Taylor duplicates the factory loading of the old H&H case. However there is some very good improvement potential to the H&H case using IMR-4350 and I think the Taylor is maxed out duplicating the standard factory loads in the H&H. IMO the handloader can wring a little more (and maybe more than that) out of the .375 H&H. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I am assumming the 375 Taylor is like the 375/338. If so, I had one built up in the late 70's with a Paul Marquart stainless barrel. With 300 gr Old style nosler partations I was averaging 2600 fps. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost. | |||

simple figures 375 HH factory SPEC load 2500fps with 300 gr bullet factory loads range, with a 300, from 2400 to 2700. MOST actually came out of the barrel closer to 2400. Can the 375Taylor match either 2400 or 2500? yes, with higher pressure can the 376 steyr make those? yes, with higher pressure can the 375 whelen make 2500 with a 300? hmm, i doubt it, but it can make 2300 jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? The Taylor can duplicate the H&H, but at higher pressure, you can see that by simple observation...anytime a small case duplicates a larger case the smaller one does so at higher pressure....Some find this acceptable, others do not... Inasmuch as they are built on the same size action, re: M-98 Mauser, M-70 Win. etc. then I would opt for opening the action up to the larger round as the less than 1/2 inch bolt throw means very little to me. Dungbettle, Sorry it's been so long I forgot the details, All I remember was I used 4064 for reloading. I had a LH Rem 700 rebarreled to this and loved it. It was my non scoped rifle and with receiever sights would easily shoot 1 MOA till my eyes couldnt. Shot my first griz with it. Pressures must of been low as I never replaced any of the brass. For fireforming cases I would load them up with 12 grains of Unique and then fill up the case with cream of wheat and then stuff tissue down the neck to hold it in place. I would then fireform the case and the neck would expand beautifully except they needed to be trimmed. I used 338 cases necked up.
