Been using the .458Win for many years as a back up & hunting rifle, we had a bunch of Mauser actions in Brown Precision light weight stocks & Magna ported, worked great !

I wanted a Ruger Alaskan in .458Win & got a take off 45/70 No1 barrel rechambered it to .458 & fitted it to a Ruger MKII, it is good to but I also wanted the Brno action but not the huge 602 action & thought Id find a take off ZKK 602 .458Win barrel & then a ZKK 600 standard length action with the pop up peep & have a Brno the right size !

Just managed to find the action this week after 5yrs of looking, so we see how it works shortly or in a few months-years lol

IDK if the tenon and the threads are the same on 600 vs 602 .. though when i put a CZ 550 barrel on a mauser, i just cut off the tenon, thread, and time the barrel to the action ...

and by "just" i mean swear for hours

Great idea !
Here is Chimera WinCZechster, a Pre-'64 M70 .30-06 action with a CZ .458 WIN barrel fitted to it:

What was great about this is that the M70 action's major diameter of barrel thread was same as minor diameter of the CZ 550 Magnum barrel thread.
No setback required except to shorten the existing tenon about 1/8",
because the M70 receiver ring is that much shorter in length than the CZ 550 Magnum.
The CZ tenon was then turned down to smooth, then retreaded to fit the Winchester,
and the M70 extractor cut at breech was required.
So a SAAMI/CIP chamber reamer had to be used for 1/8" of chamber freshening, with excellent resulting accuracy.

I do not know how many hours of swearing it took for my gunsmith to get it timed correctly in sight alignment.

Connecticut Classic M70 Tupperware stock and bottom metal fit well.
Parts is parts !
Finished rifle weighs 8 lbs. 2 oz. with scope removed, but including steel, 2-piece, cross-slot scope bases.
With 24-7/8" finished barrel length, integral CZ rear sight base and remnant secondary recoil lug underneath it, and factory CZ front sight,
I like it.
tu2
Rip ...

True; I have fitted several CZ550 barrels to Model 70s. Turn off the threads, and cut the one inch Model 70 threads . Of course you have to time the barrel to make the sights come out on top, and rechamber as necessary. If it takes your gunsmith "hours" to make this happen, he might need more practice. It is easy to do; calculate how much one turn at 16 TPI gives you (.0625), then remove as much as you need, as a segment of that. Allow for torque "crush".

Yep, my GUNSMITH had no problem with indexing the barrel shown above, quick and easy.
However, the next time I took a .458 Lott CZ 550 Magnum into his shop for conversion back to a .458 WIN chamber with "featherweight" knoxform contour.
The barrel would not come off the action without a relief cut.
And it all went south from there as far as trying to get that barrel timed when it went back on another CZ action.
It had to be set back and re-threaded to get rid of the .458 Lott chamber.
Eventually, it was scrapped.
I swore off take-off CZ barrels then.
Surely a few choice expletives were sworn then by the GUNSMITH too, if he is human.
Maybe the occasional CZ 550 Magnum barreled action has its threads screwed up at the factory,
and the barrel ends up being installed with epoxy
to get the sights to index properly ?
