Front Sight Blade On ZKK-602/CZ550 Too Low, Options? Login/Join

I purchased ALL 0-14 front sight blades from CZ-USA to try to find the correct height for my .375. I did this to myself after the front blader was badly damaged during shipping and I threw it away before looking at the number on the bottom. [Frown]

I find that when placing the bead in the bottom of the groove, which is the only way I seem to be able to shoot the express style accurately, I have to use the lowest blade. Obviously it is pretty hard to see.

I can live with this but I would like to be able to use a higher blade to see more easily. What are my options?

Thanks for any replies.

Any chance the barrel was bent when that front sight was damaged?

Roger,

Perhaps one of our .375 H&H CZ shooters can look at the number on their sight, and let you know what that is.

Mine is a BRNO, and happens to be off at Jim Brockman's to have his Gen III sights fitted. When it comes back next week I can check the sight number. By physical inspection the two sights -- BRNO and CZ -- are the same. We will see.

By the way I may be a pack rat, but I keep stuff like the damaged site in case in might be useful later. [Wink]

Bigdog,

I would appreciate that. It is stamped on the underside of the front sight blade. They are in there pretty tight so if yours doesn't want to move don't force it, I would want someone to break theirs too for my lack of foresight (no pun intended). As I recall mine wasn't as low as it is now. I bought the front sight protector for it too.

Hunterjim, yeah I deserved that [Wink] .

T_bob, I don't think it is bent, it shoots well enough but just the low sight is a drag.

I had thought of spending the money and have a 'smith take off a few 0.001's from the rear "V". Before I get into big dollar work I will explore the alternatives...like living with it!!

Roger,

Mine is really tight, so I'll take your foresite and not force it. But if I take the scope off and use the sights the 200 & 300 blades are perfect, and the fixed blade make the front sight feel low.

I had another ZKK-602 which I bought without the front sight. I could not find a suitable blade so I had my smith install a shotgun bead where the blade normally would go. He D & T'd the flat spot behind the push button on the front sight. I kind of like the shotgun bead?

Just my .02 worth Roger

Thanks for trying Bigdog, appreciate the effort.

I wish New England Custom Gun would make one of their Ruger style peeps for the ZKK. That is a very clean, well thought out design. It would be much less expensive than a good scope; then I could remove that express-mess on the barrel.

Roger, what caliber do you have? If you need the lowest blade, you may have a stock problem. Even without one, bedding the stock (a must on the bigger calibers) invariable leads to using a higher front. Could solve two problems at once.
