| I used a Mauser spring to replace the kinked Winchester one in my .375 Classic Stainless and now it holds 4 in the magazine.I have room to push the rounds down and push the bolt forward to put a fifth in the chamber.I bought the spring on ebay.

| An easy way to check if your rifle would hold 4 down is to just take the spring out. let the follower drop to the bottom then insert the rounds. If it cannot physically hold four rounds w/out a spring then it wouldn't hold four rounds w/ a flat spring. I have one M70 416Rem that does not hold four down, some here have reported that their rifle does.
It may be something as simple as the factory variations in how deep the receiver and bottom mental is inletted into the stock.
