Mag spring for model 70
Someone mentioned an after market mag spring for a model 70 that laid flatter and allowed more room in the magazine. I have looked in Brownells and Midway and haven't had any luck locating one. Does somebody know where to get one and have the contact info for them?

You're probably thinking of the spring that Wisner's offers.

I used a Mauser spring to replace the kinked Winchester one in my .375 Classic Stainless and now it holds 4 in the magazine.I have room to push the rounds down and push the bolt forward to put a fifth in the chamber.I bought the spring on ebay.

I have several Mauser springs. I might try that!

An easy way to check if your rifle would hold 4 down is to just take the spring out. let the follower drop to the bottom then insert the rounds. If it cannot physically hold four rounds w/out a spring then it wouldn't hold four rounds w/ a flat spring. I have one M70 416Rem that does not hold four down, some here have reported that their rifle does.

It may be something as simple as the factory variations in how deep the receiver and bottom mental is inletted into the stock.

Try a Remington 700 spring.
