CZ550 replacement front sight with fiber optic-what is the standard factory height? Login/Join

AR Colleagues,

Does anyone know which front sight as supplied by NECG via Brownells is the same as the factory standard height for the CZ550?

NECG supplies them in 6.5, 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5mm height. I want to purchase the same height as the factory to replace but in red fiber optic for my PH’s rifle.

Here is the link from the Brownells Web site….they are the last four sights listed.

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx...t/CZ_550_FRONT_SIGHT

Thanks
Paul

I suggest you measure the front sight on your rifle (you will have to remove it obtain the correct height) to ensure you have the same.

Wink,

Yep, good idea and thanks for the suggestion, sorry I should have clarified in my posting better. I just came back from a hunt where I discussed it with my PH but the rifle is in Botswana and I'm in the US....thought I might capitalize on someone already having done the replacement.

Thanks

Since the price isn't excessive, you might want to order two or three different heights which would let you pick the right one depending on your loads and preferred sighting in distance.

You could check the number on the bottom of the CZ sight insert, and simply order one from CZ. I got my fiber optic front insert from them, although I needed a taller height. As I recall, it cost about $20.00 U.S. plus a small shipping fee.

The contact info is: gunsmith@CZ-USA.com

I've also got a fiber optic sight straight from CZ. You can send them your current sight and they'll mill it out and insert a fiber optic one for $16 or you can get a whole new one for $25, IIRC. You get a choice of either green or red, too. I've had both, I like the red best.

Make sure you push down the little circular button in front of the sight before you start trying to remove it too. Slight should slide right out with minimal tapping.
