Hello all,
This is my inaugural post on AR but longtime lurker.
I recently picked up my first big bore rife (1st gen Ruger RSM in .416) & I am a t a loss as to where I can go try the thing out in Northern Va.
If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

TreeFarmerTry Clark Brothers on US 29 just south of Warrenton. They have a range that is open to the public. Very nice people to deal with.

DoubleDonYep, Clark Brothers Guns. Open 7 days a week. You MUST purchase ammo and targets there. Take ear and eye protection. Long term, consider Isaic Walton in Centreville. Very nice and reasonable cost. Superb archery ranges. If you want the long term best, it's Fairfax Rod & Gun Club in Manassas which usually has a long waiting list. Used to be the best club East of the Mississippi.

jeffeossomust buy ammo there? you mean they'll load my wildcats?
unacceptable to be forced to pay someone else's set rate for ammo AND range .. unless the range and targets are FREE with purchase....

DoubleDonIt's their range so they make the rules. Very simple, if one doesn't like the rules, don't bother going there. They never have "forced" anyone to come. The range is always full of folks who are most appreciative of the opportunity.

WismonGrahamzr,
Welcome. You can shoot it at the NRA's 50 yard indoor rifle range. It's in the basement of their headquarters building. They allow anything up to and including a .460 Weatherby Magnum. No .50 cal BMG, though.
