Has anyone used these bullets on paper and flesh. And did you notice any more velocity than other brand bullets. I would think this could help the 458 Win get up into the 2150 + and the 458 Lott up near 2300-2400 range. Would like to hear (read) you're thoughts. Thanks Steve

I used a 458 lott shooting barnes 500 gr, x bullets on two Cape buffalo in Zimbabwe. I used a load of 80 gains of Accuate 2520 @ 2300fps. This load preformed subperbly.I both cases the slug was stickinf part way through the hide on the far side. The slugs openened up just lke the pictures in the advertisments, and both Buffalo dropped where they stood.I think the 450gr TSX would maybe work alittle better as it would not eat up so much case capacity due to the length.

I got an email back from Barnes about their 458 Win Mag TSX loads and they said that load development for this caliber was not completed.

at the same cOAL and with the same powders, you can WILL have pressure issues the 500gr TSX is close to 1.67 long... even longer than an X in comparisson, hornady 500 1.37 woodliegh 500 1.305 this is the reason barnes is giving nearly NO data on them. even the 450gr TSX us 1.515 long go with the 450s jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I wonder what velocity a 500gr molly coated bullet would give out of a 458 Win Mag?
