| PB - not an answer to your question, but. I have a CZ 550 Safari Magnum Classic in .404 Jeff, new in the box, unfired, with Redding dies, brass, bullets, cutom loaded ammo at a really good price. Great wood, feeds with no problems, reall great piece for the $$$$. PM me for more info if interested.

| I built my 404 on a ex mil 98. The length and bolt face issues are simple but the feed issues need the ramp re-worked on each side and the mag well milled. I added 3mm to depth which gave easier fitting of 3 down and kept slim stock. Great caliber and great project to undertake. Von Gruff. |

Thanks Larry, but I already bought the action and barrel, and I've lined up a gunsmith to do the metal work. I have a CZ550 in 458 Lott. It is one of the first ones they rechambered from .458 Win. A really good shooter but it does thump at both ends.
