How often do you check your action screws?
Being pretty new to big bores I recently had some work done by a well known gunsmith to my .416 Rem and .375 H&H. My H&H was shooting about a 3 in. group. I was not happy, and really started trying to figure what was going on and finally found that my action screws were loose and rubbing the stock during the recoil of the gun. Is this normal for the action screws to back off due to recoil or do you think I got them back from the gunsmith that way?

I check them every time I clean the gun, which is every time I shoot the gun.

Make absolutely sure the screws do not touch the stock anywhere. If they do they could be preventing the recoil lug from seating correctly. This can lead to a broken stock and terrible accuracy.
