Not sure if this should go in gunsmithing or here so ill try here and see what happens. Can you guys who own 458win mags tell me the diameter of your muzzles. Would .700 be enough? thanks

That would be fine and that is what I would want, at the 24" point of the barrel. We beat this horse to death last week if you do a search.

.700 to .750 works, but you might want a thicker shank (1.3) if you want a lighter end

thanks guys, i sent out a ruger stainless 338 to get rebarreled to a 458 and they said the contour#3 would be the way to go with a ruger action and the specs say at 26in barrel the diameter is .700 but my barrel will be 23in. hope this works.
