Basically shoulder position and diameter. The capacity difference is ~ 2 grains, with the advantage going to the A Square.

much less expensive to just buy a set of 510W dies from CH4D. And, I am not sure about availability of headstamped brass for the A2.

tired..
but, seriously, 510 wells and 500 a2 do the same thing, from the same basic brass, and for the same cost. WHen you load them THE SAME WAY you get about the same results....

so, if you have a reamer (or can get one cheap) for one vs the other, OR happen to have a set of dies, those are both $$$$ difference (and time) in the project.

I mean, it's not like 505gibbe vs 500 jeffe, which are entirely different bullets and when loaded to the same pressure, entirely different results....

what are we talking about, max, 20-30fps difference, and the same cost for brass, reamers, dies, and bullets?

just my (low social filter) honest answer...

heh, they are closer than a 90s thunderbird vs cougar or 80s mustang vs capri....

it's not like a camero vs mustang .. it's camero vs transam..

from a performance and results perspective (well, the TA gets more chicks) you have essentially the same thing.

it's not even the largely theoritical difference between a 243 and 6mm or 7.62x39 vs 30/30....

so, yeah, one is basically the same as the other, and cost would drive my choice....

and, to put my money where my mouth is, I am doing a wells, because both the barrel I am getting and the reamer I can borrow are wells... if it was an A2 reamer, I would do it a2 ... for me, I am entirely indifferent between them, sound price be the only variable.
