I just got my rifle back from Wayne at American Hunting Rifles.

American Hunting Rifles Link

I left the rifle with Wayne at the Dallas Safari Club show and asked him to do their CZ Package #2. This includes replacing the front and rear sights, replacing the safety with a 3-position swing safety, straightening and filling the bolt, recrowning the barrel, adding a barrel band, a new single stage trigger, adding a second recoil lug and GunKoting the entire barreled action. I could not be happier. My old CZ has been transformed into a very nice, very functional safari rifle. The stock is a McMillan that was already on the rifle. The gun shoots as good as it looks, an 1.5 inch group at 100 yards with 400 grain Woodleigh RNSN, F215M and 90.5 grains of IMR4350 for right around 2350 fps. This rifle will hopefully have a lioness, buffalo, hippo and croc to its credit come July.

Wayne and the folks at AHR are great to deal with. I think I am going to pack up my CZ .458 Lott and have them work it over too!

Wayne is a consummate craftsman, and a genuinely good human being as well.

Very Nice Mike. Wayne built me a very nice 375H&H on a GMA action, and I will have him build a 416 Rigby on a CZ action with a composite stock for an Alaskan Bear gun.

Also contemplating a 600 OK in the future.

Know you are a Buzz and Myles fan and talked to them during this past SCI in Reno. Looking to hunt with them in 2012.

Wayne is a super guy and builds a good looking, reliable and reasonably priced rifle.

Mike:

Wayne is doing a full makeover on my CZ .416 Rigby as we speak. I agree. Wonderful people to deal with.

Apart from the "name" does the GMA action offer anything over the CZ that has been done by AHR.

pleandro,

Go to the AHR website at the link above, then click on the left side of the screen where it says CZ Owners, that will take you to the pages where they discuss the stock.
