45/70 Brass
Apologies if this has been answered already, but I couldn't find it in the archives.

What brass should I buy? Starline? Winchester? Remington?

Thanks

Starline is very good brass. However if you plan to shoot black powder loads, Winchester seems to hold just a tad more powder in my tests. I know, it shouldn't but it seems to. Confused

Starline is heavy duty stuff, I haven't managed to wear it out and use it for the heavy loads. Winchester or Remington works just fine for normal .45-70 loadings.

Where did you order them? What are you mainly going to use them for? Thanks.

Ordered them direct from Starline.

Will be used in Ruger No. 1, which will be used for bear, and possibly elk and deer.
