Back from Moz and SA and pleased to report the little 10.75x68 performed beautifully using AFrames on impala, zebra and buff. My second shot on the buff was a custom turned monometal solid at 382grns. The softs were recovered. I can send pics of the recovered bullets if anyone is interested in this caliber. Bob

Congratulations on a successful safari At the moment I am not too interested in the caliber but I would definitely like to see pictures of the recovered bullets posted here. I will try to set up an account and post the pics, but I am no Bill Gates. My grandson is better on computers than I am.

Good job! What velocities were you getting with those bullets? Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

Excellent! I have been waiting for your return and report on the 10.75! Glad it worked out well If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

Interesting. What 10.75 did you use? The *68? Cheers all Vegard_dino

The 400gr AFrames chronographed 2150fps. I did not chrono the solids. This is the 10.75x68. I will try to get the recovered bullets posted in the next day or so.

Since the solids are lighter in weight, you were getting at least the same velocities, I would think. That's .404 Jeffery (a/k/a 10.75x73mm) speed. Plenty enough for buff in the stuff. Again, congrats on a job well done! Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

That's awesome you got up to 2150 with the 400's! Those are original 404 numbers, and they seemed to do just fine for quite a few years. Modern powders really give some git' up and go to the old cartridges. Heck modern 404 J numbers are what, closer to 2400fps with 400's now? If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

Paul, The grandson was too busy riding skate boards with his buds. If you could post the pics, I would appreciate it very much. Bob
