I'm contemplating picking up a wood stocked 416 Rigby. I just can't wait any longer for my MRC PH action. Has anyone shot these two side by side and can comment accordingly. I'm a Ruger RSM fan but would like to give the CZ its fair shake.

if you put the same money into a CZ that you would put into buying a ruger, the CZ is a fiar value for the ruger.

but, out of the box, the ruger has a superior safety, intergal upper and lower quater ribs, and comes with (semi) QD rings.

Have a 375 H&H in the CZ and 416 Rigby in the RSM,
Both are tack drivers for big boomers.
The RSM has lots of features and is a great value considering those features (Barrel band, Banded front sight, intergral 1/4 rib, express sights, Good wood, cross bolts, scope mounts and rings etc.)
The CZ is no slouch, has allot of the same features, but at half the price, it is a solid buy. (No barrel band, 1/4 rib and rings)
I paid $650 for the CZ and $1200 for the RSM, along time ago.
The safety is a little odd but can be fixed.
Mine fed and ejected fine no work required, set trigger is nice.

My advice, find the one that fits you best and buy it.

I have owned both and shot both side by side. I sold the Ruger to a member of this forum I believe and he took an Elephant with it. I kept the CZ, that should tell you which I prefer. Nothing wrong with either actually, it just comes down to personal preference. I think I noted in another thread the things I find distasteful about the Ruger RSM. I replaced the bolt handle on the one I had with a straight longer one and thinned the stock considerably but still could not achieve the look and feel I wanted. I find the safety to be an abomination and just generally dislike the gun. Let's put it this way I find less to change on the CZ to make it appeal to my senses. I used mine on my last safari to take a nice Elephant and shall keep it as my 'heavy'.
