I have a 458 Mauser Mark X that shoots one hole at 50 yds. I can't even handle the recoil of a 12 ga. anymore. 72 years old with a bad shoulder. Can anyone tell what the value would be???
PS. It is glass bedded into a Bell & Carlson fiberglass stock w/ the integral sling. Original wood stock split after less than a box of ammo.

velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

Since the price intersection of the seller and purchaser is fluid probably the best way to determine what a reasonable price for your rifle is would be to check the sale price of similar rifles of the various sites such as Gunbroker. Don't be discouraged by the opening or pre-closing bid. Check the sale price of those items that actually sold.

You,in effect, are selling a barreled action IMO..A fiberglass split stock however can be repaired, but not real saleable as is or fixed and fixing the stock would cost $150 and still a non plus investment IMO..

As a barreled action it would be worth $400 to maybe $450. and Mark 10s are not easy to sell unless its a whitworth.. That would be close anywhere I suspect. It would make a nice project gun with considerable metal work and a nice custom wood stock..and worth the money if it shoots that good.

Ray, the OP said the original wood stock split hence the fiberglass stick. I think that brings the value to $850 or so.

+/- 20% for "opinions" .. but yeah, assuming it's in decent shape and not "hot glued" into the stock .. 575 to $1000 bucks

you lose 50% AT LEAST on all custom work .. take a $600 rifle, add $3000 of custom work, you'll work HARD to find someone to pay 2k

opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club

I had a Parker Hale 1100M Safari in .458, which I think is pretty similar. Shot real well with iron sights.

I got $750 (CDN) for it, in VG condition, bedded into the original stock.
