They wanted $749 at sportsmans warehouse for this CZ Safari 375 H&H model.Is this a good maker of rifles?I have never owned a CZ.

They are an international standard. Rugged, reliable and with a huge magazine. Recommended.

I have 2 cz550s and really like them alot. I would purchase another...

Also, AR member Will has an add in the Classifieds for CZ's at $730.00 shipped to the lower 48.
If your local dealer doesn't have what you want Will might be able to get it for you as he lives near
the CZ distributor in Kansas.

I like cz's just a little bit, and would reccomend them. Others don't like them, thats good they keep the prices down

Ditto, one Safari Magnum in .375 H&H and one FS in 6.5x55. Good bang for the buck (pun intended) .

Ditto. If I didn't already have a .375 H&H on an Interarms Mark X I think I would be having the CZ.

The CZ is a decent rifle for the money. May need a little work

I have owned two CZ 550 Magnums, both the American NOT Safari. The first in 375 H&H, current one in 416 Rigby. The 375 had a walnut stock, the 416 has a laminated stock. If you are going to get it wet I would spend the extra money and get the laminated stock. The blueing on the barrel is excellent and with the laminated stock make a great AK gun. I love the preset trigger option offered on these guns.

There IS a DIFFERENCE between the Safari and American Magnum stocks. I have heard the Safari Magnum is a problem getting it shouldered correctly when using a scope on it. I understand it was made to use with the open sights. I personally like the looks better, but opted for the American Safari because of the alledged problem.

I think the CZ is the best values in a rifle I have seen today. I like my so much I want a CZ in the new Ruger 204 with laminated stock.

just to be clear, the only difference in the cz 550 magnum safari american and other is the stock

No problem with the safari stocks if you get them bedded or add a cross bolt where applicable...say in the .458's, I think the rigby and .375 properly bedded are fine.

I like the slim forends of the safari's.

Funnily enough my 9.3x62 cz which is done of the 30/06 cz action has double cross bolts for and aft the mag box as well as aF block barrel lug......much better set up than the funky lug set up on the safari's and yet the 9.3 does not recoil like a rigby or .458 ??

I had ZKK602 with 1991 proof marks and found little to complain about after putting approx. 1000 rounds throught it. This forged magnum Mauser-type actioned piece was designed for ruggedness and simplicity, along with a great marigin for abusive use. It's smooth hammer forged and lapped barrel was very accurate. The CZ550 Safari seems to have much better metal polishing along with better stock finish/checkering.

In all hoensty the only complaint I have of a cz 550 in .375 H&H is the weight. If I where to build a custom rifle in .375 H&H I think I would prefer a cz 550 action over the M70, I just think they feel so solid and dependable, I like there capacity and with a lite weight .375 barrel it would make a great basis for a custom especially with a McMillan desert camo stock and the stainless barrel all wmated to the cz 550 safari action

I have a gun safe which is half full of Brno/Cz rifles and I like them a great deal. They are sturdy, reliable and shoot straight. They may not be a pretty as other rifles but the price is right and, if you want to, you can do a lot of improvements to make your Cz just as pretty as any other rifle.
