Don't be surprised if you do not get any responses. Most people are really tired of this subject.

I called them in early 2007 and attempted to order two of the left hand versions and was told that the introductory price was no longer available. When I asked why, they stated that they had enough orders and they expected the actions to be back from pine tree in a few months. I will personally not deal with them for this reason. The following is from their website.

"Please note that as of 05/23/2007 this project is now being addressed. We are going to try our best to fill all the pre ordered Professional Hunter Actions by early 2008. "

So, does anyone have a PH action in their hands right now? Just two days until 2009 MRC jumping

Guys, I have two ordered myself so I'm not just a outside observer but I'll remind you that Ruger took three years to get their first Redhawks from glossy catalog pages to real revolvers and about that same amount of time, if not longer, for their side by side shotgun and they are a big company with a lot more resources than these guys.

I ordered a LH 375 H&H last year for my wife and had a barreled action in hand in less than 60 days. Show me any company that doesn't struggle getting a new action on the ground and working properly from the beginning.

Ditto what 500 said about delivery. Anyone that expected it on the advertised time hasn't done this very much.

I'm not sure why you would be pissed if they reached the advertised cut off point (400 units) for the introductory offer before you called; that was your unfortunate luck not their bad intent.

Joe,
you might reconsider, as they, as a company, have kept their word

I remain very hopeful and (unusual for me Roll Eyes) patient. Perhaps because I had no real expectation as to delivery date or because my other guns keep me busy BOOM.

Mine will go to Wayne at AHR (bet he didn't know that) for development of something - maybe a .495 AHR Wink

Either way, for whatever reason, I remain confident that the result will be worth the wait.

I just called MRC about the PH actions. I am now on a list for one of the left hand actions. There still are not enough orders for the left hand version for MRC to go in to production and there is no time frame to begin production.

I asked about the right hand models. The initial orders will be shipped by the end of January to beginning of February.

Mike, are they honoring the intro price on the left hand actions?

The way I read this there is a good chance there will never be a left handed PH, all the production talk and first batch are RH actions.

This is from their site.

"As of this time we are not doing the LH versions. While we continue to take orders for the LH we are no where near the amount of orders needed to get it started. When we originally started the PH project we set the amount needed to get each project started at 500 orders. The Right Hand PH's pre-sold were far less than the needed 500 to break even, so we cannot do the Left Hands until we get at least close to the required 500."

No question about that. My complaint is the constant delays and failed milestones with them. And after seeing one of the initial stainless left hand actions, I am convinced that in the end a Granite Mountain, while out of reach at the moment, would be an overall better investment in a heavy rifle that may be called upon to save your life or the life of your hunting companions. MRC has a MSRP on the finished rifles of $2850.00 if I remember the article in American Rifleman. For that much money, I want something better than the action that they are producing. Now, in my case of shooting left handed, if CZ ever follows through with the production of the 550 with the bolt on the wrong side, the Granite Mountain is out the window.

No word on the price for the left hand actions. 500 will be tough to meet but I put my name in the hat for just in case.

I understand the economics, but it is tough being left handed at times.

I'm very optimistic about the "PH" actions and I think these will be heck of a deal. This action will be capable of swallowing and digesting just about any sporting round anyone would be interested in shoulder firing. And by the way I've been waiting I believe going on six years since I had initially placed my order with Jon who is not even there anymore. Nonetheless I'm very pleased to hear how close these are to being completed. Rodney.

There are more than a few of us out here that have been waiting quite some time. I've managed my time well butchering SxS shotguns with the silly idea of building a rifle and horse trading guns on the side in the effort to have the ultimate personal battery of sporting arms. Rodney.
