posted
Dallas Safari Club recent e-mail newsletter had an item that the Feds (ATF) are trying to outlaw all solid bullets "as armor piercing" which might be loaded into a "pistol caliber" except maybe .458
What will this do to some other good hunting bullets and things like the Hornady GMX???
Anyone have any more information???
Comments welcome.

Take a look at this thread for some information on that subject:

Thanks for the related thread.
I found the source of my notification finally.
It was in e-mail from Central Texas Safari Club
on Feb 23 out of Austin Texas.
Is it possible for these ATF guys to classify all mono-metal bullets as "armor piercing"
if they continue to extend their reach???
We are likely to lose some really good bullets
to their official BS.

Good Shooting

As I understand it, copper solids are not under BATFE scrutiny.

Barnes is working to get an official exemption for their solids.

There was something also abotu a 'fear' that the bigger solids could be turned down into pistol calibers...why on earth they wouldn't just start with raw stock I don't know, but that's our ATF for you...

Only a matter of time and apathy on the part of the gun owners. Our motto should be See Something Stop Something ( The four S's) but it isn't, because unlike the Anti's we don't ever really do anything about it. The NRA not only won't do a damn thing but even denied they had even heard about it. Treated me like I was making it up. Brass, Copper, Lead, doesn't matter its only a matter of time.-Rob
