We have talked alot abot the way the CZ 550 stocks have cracked in the 458 Lott. I was wondering if this is also a problem with the 375H&H. I might be able to purchase a new CZ550 in 375H&H for $580.00. I thought this was a great deal but was worried about the stock . Can you guys that have experience with the CZ in 375 reply an this matter. Thanks Tanoose

1) that seems like a good price on the 550.
2) bed it & add at least one cross-bolt (better safe than sorry).

I bedded my 375 (no cross-bolts) and have not had any prolbems (probably have 500+ rounds through it)... but... you never know...

A good glass bedding job on a .375 H&H should be sufficient for recoil however adding stock bolts looks great and is a reasonable insurance premium to pay.

I just had my cz .375 bedded and it is fine. The lott I added a couple of cross bolts though.

Gunsmith said the 375 didn't need cross bolts, and, it fit pretty much perfectly. Mine was a CZ rep gun, and it was a beauty.

Remove the barreled action from the stock and check it for cracks before you buy it. Then have it glass bedded before you shoot it very much. Check very carefully around the tang for cracks.

I had mine bed, installed one cross bolt, and had the trigger adjusted. The rifle shoots 270 grain Barnes TSX (3 shot groups) into one "slightly" enlarged hole at 100 yards.

No problems with the stock to date...
