I have my 505 dies and components ready, but; I found my old RCBS Rockchucker is too short to handle the length of the 505 Gibbs. I was thinking about getting this package at Cabelas, RCBS Ammomaster 50BMG Kit: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas...cat601233&hasJS=true The press is offered as a kit is complete with all dies, I could wait for a sale of use a coupon and get maybe$75 discount on the $550 retail. I might like to try a 50BMG in future so this kills two birds - one stone. if it will work with 505 dies and shell holder. Is this press going to work with my Gibbs dies? Overkill or is there a better option, less money up front? I already got adapter bushing, but now I guess I might need a different bushing? I though a 50 BMG press should have lots of 'extra' leverage for the Gibbs and handle any 600/700/12ga extreme I might desire in the future. Thoughts?

Yup... I used to load 505 on my Rockchucker... I'd just hold the bullet up in the seater die then insert the brass... ______________________ Sometimes there is no spring... Just the wind that smells fresh before the storm...

Any thoughts on that Ammomaster? if I wanted to step up - seems like a big one. Expensive, but that is with some hi-$$ BMG dies included.

I don't know if RCBS still sells just the Ammomaster Press, no 50 BMG stuff, but that's the way I bought my several years ago. I came with a removable bushing to adapt to 7/8 dies.I think I only paid about $150 for it back then.

hornady sells the same sized thing cheaper .. i'd rather have it in red ... however, the price is outrageous opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? You can buy the Ammomaster without the BMG accessories for a fair price: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewP...productNumber=670552 Bought one last year and use it for my 9,3 and 450 NE. Beats the heck out of using my Rock Chucker and pinching my fingers all the time. Money well spent in my opinion. Other presses with larger "windows" will work as well. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

the big Redding will work as well. My brother has one and loads 50-140 (3.25" case) on it easily. For the money, I'd buy the Corbin swaging press. I made an adaptor with a $2 7/8ths x 14tpi ID hex nut from the Caterpillar store and fifteen minutes on a lathe. It looks cool, too. Rich DRSS

The Rockchucker Supreme, newest one has a 1.25"x12tpi top hole and is easily bushed to 7/8"x14tpi hole. I can load the 3.25"-cased .416 Barrett with that, using 1.25"x12tpi dies from Lee. The AmmoMaster has 1.5"x12tpi hole (that fits the big BMG dies) and can be easily bushed to 1" and 7/8" holes, those bushings are readily available. It will do anything I need to, but ... If you want to bush the AmmoMaster to 1.25"x12tpi top hole, Corbin is the only place I know of making the precision-timed-strong-steel-thin-walled bushing to reduce 1.5"x12tpi to 1.25"x12tpi. What size are your .505 Gibbs die threads? I use the AmmoMaster bushed to 1" with my .505 Gibbs dies ... I have not seen a bushing of 1.25" to 1".

CH4D makes 1.5' to 1.25" bushings and about any other size you want. Big Lee Classic Cast is good one up to 50bmg-105 bucks with primer arm, at Grafs, has 1.25" top hole for bmg dies. A copy of the big Lee is Smart Reloader Brand at Grafs 75 bucks, with primer arms, does up to 50bmg, has 1.25" top hole. These two are great for reloading. Now for 2 and 4 bore and hairy wildcat swaging and case building the Ammomaster is super.ED MZEE WA SIKU
