Anyone have one of these? McMillan used the same website picture for the CZ Express and the Winchester Safari stocks. Can anyone confirm they are the same except for inletting? Any pictures would help also.

Thanks, looks like their website has the wrong pic up. I'm looking for a better stock for a 416 Rigby. The factory wood stock has enough extra lumber to build a split level ranch!

The Bell & Carlson with full bedding block is what you want. Better stock and great price. Same stock as what CZ used on their "Kevlar"/"Aramid" -stocked rifles. CZ used to sell them for same price you pay for a McMillan. Go directly to B&C and get various colors besides black, your choice, not Henry Ford's, and you get it for a lot less money. My favorites are black with red webbing and green with black webbing. ![]() Rip ...

The nice lady from McMillan claims the two stocks are similar except for the tang area. And since I have a stainless 416 Remington in one of the stocks with a Sunnyhill BM I'll go that way. Not my favorite, but it will do. Bell and Carlson just never impressed me, Lol!

You can get your custom LOP from McMillan, and wait a few months for delivery. I like using a slip-on pad on the Medalist-style stocks for B&C. Winter heavy clothing and 13.5" LOP works for me. Summer shirt-sleeve shooting, add the slip-on pad adjusted for 14.5" LOP. I have more B&C stocks than McMillan. The LOP on the McMillan could also be ordered short for winter clothing. Trivia: First factory rifle offered with synthetic stock was a Weatherby Mark V Fibermark with a black, wrinkle-painted McMillan, about 1984-85, before McMillan was moulding in the checkering and the color. I have a .340 Wby Fibermark. It served well in Alaska, 1985-1988. The beat-up paint on the first .375/404 Jeffery Saeed (now used by The B Team) is on a McMillan stock. It has taken a licking and keeps on ticking. ![]() Rip ...

On second thought: Seems like you are basing that opinion on the earliest model of "Carbelite" stocks from B&C. They were crap. The current B&C stocks (Medalist type) with full-metal endoskeleton make a McMillan stock the weak sister. ![]() Rip ...

I have several McMillans on calibers 223 through 375 H&H. No doubt that I like them. I have a 458 Lott with the factory Bell & Carlson, I like it also. I have no issues with the B&C. I like them enough that I had a take off from my son's M70 300 Winchester fitted to my M70 300 WBY. It replaced a factory laminated stock.
