use 300 rum brass for your in-the-states shooting, and find 404 brass later??

btw, make DARN sure your chamber print matches your die print

Is that hard to do? I never thought about making 404 brass from a 300 ultra mag.

since "basic" RUM is basically unobtainable, and annealing can be a PITA, i would recommend something like this
https://www.amazon.com/magneti...tic+induction+heater

and use intermediate expander balls-- or just forego all that, use the 404 sizer die, without an expander, size the rum (300, ircc is the longest of the RUM) to BARELY fit in your chamber, fireform (there's a couple religions built off fireforming), then trim and resize as per normal - i would NOT trim first, if fireforming from a .308 neck to a .424 neck -
