Biggest,easiest?

Biggest,easiest?
Just for the fun of it I would like to put together a rifle which fire a big diameter bullet at modest speeds.What would be a relatively easy way to get there? I have built a few rifles so I have some skill and access to tools.
I am thinking bigger and slower than a .458 Win mag.

In a bolt-action: .50 Action Express, or .475 Wildey.

In a single-shot: .50-70 Gov't.

Look for an H&R single shot in 500 S&W. Brass pertty cheap as are dies.....you can get into one for usually under $250...great starting point.

What type of action?

A super large Falling Block?

I mean using the 12Ga FH as a guide, you could likely get THAT brass to open to 10 Gauge!!!!!

Then there'e the NEW 4 Bore plan that Ed Hubel has abrew...

Lots of good thoughts,thanks.
I am probably looking at a bolt action. It seems like one of the pistol calibers would be the way to go. Available brass and bullets. A short bolt gun would be handy and fun.
Something like this would be capable for just about anything on the North American continent,right?
