No forgiveness needed sambarman. I stated in my OP that I could probably NEVER be able to do this again, and skill requires repeatability. But a dog can have his ONE day! I think that was my day. Having said that, I also think my rifle really likes this ammunition. The wind that day was about 10 mph. In my experience, I don't think wind like that can move a 250 gr. bullet going 2900 fps completely off target at 100 yards. I also made no claim to be a rifle marksman, so perhaps I'm wrong in that assumption. I am also not a ballistician. Luck? Well, as I said, I think the rifle & ammo are a great match. But as I've never shot a group like that in my life at 200 yards, yeah, I'd DEFINITELY say it was luck. For me, this is kind of like my hole-in-one for a golfer. Not even a pro can repeat that feat consistently, but a celebration and high fives are usually the norm anyway. So please everyone, don't think I am trying to uphold myself as an expert shot. In fact, I consider myself quite average, and worse, my wife is a better shot! She really is. This was just my one day in the sun. And I'm STILL going to gold frame it on my ceiling over my bed if the wife will allow. Sweet dreams....

Some years ago I put three shots into 3/8" at 200 yards shooting sitting with a sling. I am pretty good sitting with a sling but that was, as Jack O'Connor said, "The wibbles compensating for the wobbles."

Thanks for the vote of confidence Andrew! But you have seen my wife shoot, and know I'm second fiddle to her... I too can't wait for our hunt! I am pleased that the 375 is shooting this ammo so well, especially for that shot on the Sitatunga. Fingers crossed!

Mr. O'Conner was obviously a wise and experienced man! Good post AZWriter. And congrats on that sitting group at 200! Geez, mine was a benchrest...

Sorry surefire7, I wasn't impugning your reputation, just arguing with one of the other writers, who opined that it was not luck. Testing a rifle or handload's groups and winning matches are generally two distinct endeavours. The target shooter who can put all his shots into a minuscule 10-ring or inner despite wind will probably finish as Cock of the Walk, an end in itself, however it happened. The benchrester who can keep groups together in wind is rightfully lauded as a talented fellow - but unbelievably tight clusters have an extra element.

No impugning taken sambarman! There is great truth in your words. And what is the saying, 'It's better to be lucky than good.'? But be kind to the gentleman who said 'it was not luck.' He was just being kind to me!
