Anyone that has experienced it yet or has taken it on Safari yet?
Seems well priced against the Kimber Caprivi ($3196), Ruger RSM ($1850) and CZ550 Safari Magnum ($1179).
The Montana Safari Supreme goes for $4399.

Think the suggested price on the big Ruger is $2400 or so.

I have a 416. Haven't taken it anywhere yet but my observations are...

Better machined than the New Haven guns.

Will feed flat nosed Barnes solids smoothly.

Accurate...three 400 grain Swifts into about an inch and a quarter.

Trigger on mine had a bunch of creep, but it adjusted out. Came from the factory at about 3 and a half pounds.

Comes with a spring steel extractor...probably Williams, but like all of the new Model 70s I've seen, it is stainless. Got swapped.

Blue looks kinda thin...gives the impression it will wear easily.

Stock is the same clunky chunk that the last New Haven guns had. I bedded mine into a older Winchester Custom Shop stock I had. They come "bedded" with 3 little dabs of hot glue that I wouldn't trust at all.

I think I paid about $1100 plus tax.

Just some observations...I like mine.
